Klarna joins Finland’s most widely used payment service

Paytrail, Finland’s leading expert in e-commerce and online payments, is partnering with Klarna, the global digital bank and payments provider, to make Klarna’s payment methods available to Paytrail’s merchant network.

The partnership gives Finnish merchants access to Klarna at checkout while enabling them to reach consumers both in Finland and across Klarna’s international markets.

Paytrail merchants can now offer Klarna’s default payment options based on the customer’s location. In Finland, this currently includes direct payments via MobilePay, bank transfer, cards or Klarna balance, interest free pay later within 30 days and financing.

Klarna has 114 million consumers globally and 2.1 million consumers in Finland, representing roughly half of the adult population. More than 600,000 Finns use the Klarna app every month.

Paytrail handles online payment traffic for more than 20,000 merchants, with nearly all of its merchants based in Finland. By adding Klarna, these merchants can accept customers from other markets where Klarna operates, without needing separate local integrations.
